Week 2 #4 Online Safety and Sharing

As enthusiastic as I have been about the possibilities and wonderful things you can explore and share and do through Blogs and other Web Tools out there, I can also see the other side... you know, there is ALWAYS two sides to everything. I agree that we all have to be very careful in what information we put out for everyone to see because even though I truly believe that the majority of humans have wonderful good hearts, there are also some not so good ones, that can try to use this information for wrong doing.
The fact that you write through a keyboard, without anyone in front of you, might make you think you are safe and can't be harmed, but I never get tired of reminding my youngest daughter to be very careful with what information she makes public.

Week 2 #3

Ok, I will be honest in talking about my experience with creating and working my weekly excercises in my blog....HELP!!! LOL. No, seriously, I have to say, I am definetly learning a lot; it is a different experience to post your thoughts out for lots of people to read... but yet it is also exciting to see if you get a comment on what you wrote. I can also see why my children have so much fun using this type of tools on the web, specially since all their friends are also out there posting comments, pictures, etc. It is a way of being together sharing, thoughts, pictures, ideas... yet each of them at their own home.
Well, as I said, it is fascinating and not too easy for me, but fortunately I have wonderful co-workers here at EV who are always willing to help you when you get stuck.

Week #1 Exercise 2, Lifelong Learning-Motivate Yourself

I have always enjoyed continued education; after getting my BA in Media Communications at Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio, Texas, I was a full time Mom for several years and then decided to go back to the University and study to be a Chef. Since I love to cook, I got into a One year program at Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City to obtain a Cordon D'Or Diplomate degree. On one side it was very hard managing my youngest daughter who must have been around 2 years old at the time, my two other children who were now in Elementary School, homeworks, studing for tests, and different schedules, but I had my Husbands support and that made it all possible. On the other side, it was a fascinating experience; we had different Chefs come teach us how to cook food from French, to Chinese, to Mexican. I still remember the Italian Chef, it was wonderful seeing her explaining the class, and I loved her Italian accent!
Years later I decided I wanted to be a Realtor, and started taking classes at various Community Colleges in Mc.Allen, Texas and here in Houston at San Jacinto College; until I was ready to take my final test and get my RE License, and so I did.
I enjoy reading Non-Fiction to continue to learn a little more about different topics. And now, I am so excited to be able to take this course, as well as Gadgets and Gizmos; I believe it is fascinating to see everything that is happening with Information across the whole world!!! and how it is making the world smaller and smaller... more as one.
